SAN RAMON, Calif.—SAFE Security, a national security company based here, recently promoted Gary Franklyn to the newly created position of senior vice president of dealer sales, where he will be responsible for all facets of dealer management including dealer sales and marketing and dealer recruitment and retention. Franklyn will be based out of Safeguard Security, SAFE's branch office in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Prior to working for SAFE, Franklyn spent eight years at Security Networks in West Palm Beach, Fla., where he created its affiliate dealer program, growing the company's start-up affiliate business to more than $100 million in annual revenue.
“We were very successful in building a business from scratch over at Security Networks, eventually selling to Monitronics for $507 million, so I would like to recreate a similar program here at SAFE,” Franklyn told Security Systems News. “Now that I am no longer bound by my non-compete, I think here at SAFE we can grow the business significantly in the coming years, especially in this environment where some of our other competitors are having some challenges.”
SAFE Security president and CEO Paul Sargenti pointed out that this new role will allow Franklyn to transition out of his current duties as VP of branch operations and take SAFE's dealer program to the next level.
“Franklyn comes with extensive knowledge and experience within the industry in general and the recruitment and management of dealer programs in particular,” Sargenti said in a prepared statement. “Gary will bring a new level of energy and growth potential for our competitive dealer program.”
