CANTON, Mass.-A national systems integrator with a unique partner has signed on a number of national accounts over the last year and opened its own state-of-the-art central station at its headquarters here to handle the growth.
Securex, a two-year-old integrator, late last year signed on Rainbow Apparel, a 360-location clothing retailer based in Brooklyn, N.Y., one of a host of national accounts generated from its relationship with its parent company, L.P. Innovations. The loss prevention company has about 20 locations across the country.
The addition of the Rainbow Apparel locations will mean nearly 2,000 locations reporting into Securex's central station, located in a 45,000 square foot building that houses both Securex and LP Innovations. All locations were expected to be online early this year, said Ed Don-nelly, Securex's commercial sales manager. The company also provides services to companies such as apparel chains 5-7-9, Ups and Downs and Casual Male, shoe manufacturer Reebok and Papa Gino's restaurants. The central station first started monitoring accounts in April, he said.
Bolstered by its retail customers through LP Inno-vation's operations, Securex is now increasing its presence in the financial services, manufacturing and industrial sectors to diversify its customer base, said Mike May, president of Securex.
"We are seeing a lot of business because of the crossover of the relationship, which gives (both companies) a full service offering," May said.
With about 65 employees, Securex is able to service its national account base without a significant capital outlay. Instead, the company uses LP Innovation's locations as satellite locations to house their technicians, Donnelly said.
Because of its retail customer base, the company's offering is heavily concentrated with video services, virtual guard tours, remote access for video and audio for the end-user to facilities around the country, as well as data storage for critical incident verification.
The company is looking into remote access control management, where Securex would maintain its customer's employee card access control database with scheduling and other information.
While its scope is already expanding nationwide, the company is simultaneously marketing itself throughout its Northeast territory, with 10 sales people on board in that region.
