WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—Security Networks has added Alarm.com Video Monitoring to the list of a la carte services its affiliates can now offer. This will increase the amount of revenue they get for their accounts from Security Networks and will allow them to differentiate themselves from others in the marketplace, said Security Networks vice president of business development Gary Franklyn.
“Our premise on the affiliate program has always been to find new opportunities and revenue streams so they could be more competitive and make more money,” Franklyn said. “We rolled this out sometime in June and we've been tweaking the program and having webinars and giving sales and tech training. We've branded our own enhanced services, which we call iNet Service by Alarm.com.”
Security Networks' affiliates already have access to Alarm.com's GSM alarm signal transmission service. Affiliates' customers will now be able to actively monitor their homes or businesses using wireless IP cameras and sensor-triggered, recorded clips, or live video viewed from one or more cameras. Customers can access the service from a web-enabled computer or mobile device. Alarm.com has provided free apps for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android devices.
“We already have a successful track record with Security Networks,” said Alarm.com vice president of marketing Mary Knebel. “This is just an extension. We plan on moving forward with other products their dealers are interested in selling.”
What other kinds of products are on the horizon?
“Thermostat control, lighting, door controls—this is just a beginning. We're working with them to put together different bundles of advanced services,” Franklin said.
