SIA opens nominations for 2023 Women in Security Forum Power 100

SILVER SPRING, Md.—The Security Industry Association (SIA) has opened the call for nominations for the 2023 SIA Women in Security Forum (WISF) Power 100.

In its second year, this annual initiative presented by the SIA Women in Security Forum will honor 100 women in the security industry who are role models for actively advancing diversity, inclusion, innovation and leadership in the security industry. For the second straight year, Security Systems News is the media partner and sponsor for this initiative.

“We are thrilled to launch the second year of the SIA Women in Security Forum Power 100, which recognizes 100 amazing female leaders who continue to break barriers and help to advance opportunities for women in the industry,” said Kasia Hanson, chair of the SIA Women in Security Forum.

The Power 100 recognition program honors women in security who model leadership, inspire others, and shape and transform the industry. The 2023 SIA Women in Security Forum Power 100 honorees will be announced on International Women’s Day on March 8, 2023. Honorees will be invited to and recognized at a special SIA Women in Security Forum event at ISC West in Las Vegas in March next year.

“The SIA Women in Security Forum works to foster a more diverse security workforce and we are pleased to build on the Forum’s successes with the Power 100 initiative,” noted SIA CEO Don Erickson. “The Power 100 program is a unique way to recognize and showcase exceptional women who lead, inspire, and innovate and are truly making a difference in the global security industry. We strongly encourage our members and the larger security industry to identify and honor these women leaders in their organizations by submitting a Power 100 nomination.”

To nominate an individual for the 2023 Power 100 program, complete the nomination form here. Individuals may nominate multiple individuals and persons may also nominate themselves. Previous honorees are eligible to be renominated. All nominations must be submitted by Friday, Jan. 27, 2023.

SIA’s Women in Security Forum works to engage all security professionals to promote, recruit and cultivate women’s leadership for a more inclusive and diversified industry. In addition to the Power 100, the SIA Women in Security Forum offers several programs and activities, including the SIA Progress Award, which celebrates individuals who advance opportunities for women in the security industry; the SIA Women in Security Forum Scholarship, which furthers educational opportunities and advancement for a diverse security workforce; special keynote breakfast events at ISC West and East; volunteer efforts that give back to the community; a virtual education series; collaborative projects with other organizations seeking to empower women in security and technology; sponsorship of the Women in Biometrics Awards; thought leadership and speaking opportunities; and engaging networking and professional growth events.
