WESTMINSTER, Mass.-Global fire detection and security systems provider Simplex Time Recorder Co. opened a new headquarters and operation center this spring, a move company officials say reflects double-digit growth.
In April, Simplex moved from its century-old Gardner, Mass. site to consolidate its business in a 176,000-square-foot facility on 300 acres which will house all research and development, manufacturing, distribution, marketing and administrative operations. Employees at the former headquarters were relocated to the new campus and will continue to work on providing building systems and workforce management. The building will also serve as a training center on Simplex products and technologies.
"Our goal is to establish Simplex as the leading brand in the electronic security industry, and the development of the state-of-the-art headquarters and operations center is another important step in achieving that objective," says Cam Queeno, director of security product marketing at Simplex.
Simplex employs approximately 1,600 people in Massachusetts and has more than 7,000 employees worldwide. In addition to the new building which accommodates 500 people, the company owns and operates 170 sales and service offices around the world.
According to Queeno, Simplex has experienced double-digit growth in its electronic solutions business during the past few years. He says from an R&D perspective the consolidated site can enhance product development efforts in security, fire alarm and workforce management by bringing solutions to market quicker.
Simplex not only manufactures and designs its systems, but also integrates, installs and services application-specific solutions. Field personnel, as well as Simplex customers, will be trained at the new headquarters.
