WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—Dioli's Trattoria, an Italian restaurant here, is expected to be closed until the middle of the month as a result of being flooded by a faulty fire sprinkler, according to an article from the News & Record, a newspaper based in Greensboro, N.C.
The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on May 8 when water flowed into the restaurant from the fire sprinkler system in the Stevens Center, the space the restaurant leases belonging to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, the report noted.
The flooding occurred when the fire sprinkler system in the Stevens Center was being tested. University officials are in the process of assessing the damage to the restaurant, which sustained water damage to its ceiling and wall, restaurant owner Roger Dioli told the newspaper.
