INDIANAPOLIS–Calling it an opportunity to expand its reach to NASA and beyond to other government departments, Stanley Security Systems, an access control and security system provider, on July 22 announced it won a $4.8 million contract from NASA.
Stanley will develop and install a smart-card based building-access control and security system.
This installation is part of NASA’s common badging and access control systems, and an extension of an earlier project Stanley Security Systems did for NASA.
The contract may be extended beyond the initial two-year period and will encompass five locations, including Langley, Va., Pasadena, Calif., Cleveland, Ohio, Greenbelt, Md., and Moffet Field, Calif.
“We fully anticipate this will be the first of many such government-related contract announcement we will make in the very near future,†said Joe Costa, vice president of sales for Stanley, in a statement.
