Superion buys Public Safety Corporation

LAKE MARY, Fla.—Superion, a provider of software and IT solutions, on March 27 purchased Public Safety Corporation, which—among other products—produces the CryWolf false alarm solutions.

“We are relentlessly focused on providing local governments with technology that empowers them to build safer communities. … So, this acquisition fits in well with our product suite and furthers our mission of saving taxpayer dollars and supporting safer communities,” Superion CEO Simon Angove told Security Systems News in an email interview. He declined to release financial terms of the acquisition.

Superion specializes in providing solutions for city, municipal and county governments, non profit organizations and public safety and justice agencies.

“CryWolf is a compelling addition to our platform and solves a critical issue for public safety agencies and the communities they serve. CryWolf shares alarm incident and permit data with CAD, so responders are better informed, and automatically processes and sends false alarm notices and fines to citizens,” Angove said. “The expanded and complementary portfolio of new applications and technology will deliver the most comprehensive software solution to help government optimize resources, achieve their goals, and meet ever growing citizen expectations.”

Superion will immediately start providing scale in services and support to Public Safety Corporation customers, Angove said, and the company is “focused on protecting the investment of Public Safety Corporation customers through continued development of the existing Public Safety Corporation products.”

In addition to CryWolf, Public Safety Corporation also provides Medallion, a licensing and permitting solution, and Parking Citation and Payment Tracking, which are both being brought into Superion.

“Public Safety Corporation's Medallion and Parking Citations products currently focus on automating and simplifying citizen interaction with their state and local governments,” Angove said. “These permitting, citation, and payment solutions are expected to be complementary components of the Superion public safety software suite, adding capabilities for agencies to maximize payment collection and increase permit ordinance compliance.”

Superion is maintaining PSC customer-facing employees and locations in Waldorf, Md., and Bonita Springs, Fla.
