Titan Alarm acquires two

Titan Alarm acquires two Company now has first brick-and-mortar office outside of Phoenix

PHOENIX—Titan Alarm Inc., a commercial and residential security company based here, announced two acquisitions this week, which includes the purchase of accounts and customer bases of Post Security and CCS Systems.

The deal with Post Security, which was an RMR-only acquisition of about 100 accounts, closed on May 8th. The CCS Systems deal, which includes all five employees, the company's office in Tucson and approximately 800 accounts, closed on June 30th.

“We've wanted to be able to expand our footprint outside of the Phoenix area for some time and are really excited about the opportunity to add CCS System and our first brick-and-mortar branch outside of Phoenix,” Danny Holmgren, president of Titan Alarm, told Security Systems News. “The addition of CCS brings a very loyal, healthy account base, but also adds a new territory which will allow us to expand and grow exponentially. This transaction more than quadruples our account base in Tucson.”

CCS Systems, established in 1981 in Tucson by Andy and Margie Billings, provides residential and commercial services, including intrusion alarm, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, home theater and A/V, and central vacuum cleaning systems.

The strategy moving forward is to “focus heavily on this CCS branch in Tucson, and really turn it into a strong profit center for us,” he said. “The owner of CCS will stay on and be the branch manager there for us and we are really excited just to help grow and boost the productivity and production of that branch in Tucson.”

Holmgren is also excited to work with CCS to grow Titan's commercial business in Tucson.

“We have established ourselves as one of the leading commercial security providers in Phoenix, and there is lot of commercial work to be done in Tucson, so we are excited by the possibilities that exist with this new branch,” said Holmgren. “Being able to bolster and boost our commercial and residential sales in Tucson in a way that allows us to do that more effectively and more efficiently is better for our employees and customers.”

Over the last couple of years, he said, Titan has been doing a lot more commercial work, with 70 percent of the company's business now commercial and 30 percent residential.

In the other acquisition, Titan purchased the monitored accounts of Post Security, a Phoenix-based company formed by owner Scott Post in 1990. The company provides a full range of low voltage service, including intrusion alarms, access control systems, low voltage wiring, intercom systems, camera systems, and surround sound systems.

“Scott ran a great operation and provided incredible customer service, as evidenced by the praise we have heard from his customers since we began servicing them, and his low customer attrition," said Holmgren. "We are thrilled that when the timing was right, Scott chose Titan Alarm as the best fit to take care of his customers into the future.”

With the closing of the deals with Post Security and CCS Systems, Titan Alarm's total RMR now exceeds $205,000, with other potential account acquisition opportunities in the works by the end of 2017, according to Holmgren.

“We have some other acquisitions that are in various phases of discussion that we hope to close by the end of the year,” he said. “We will have an emphasized focus on organic growth through our existing branch as well as through this new acquired Tucson branch.”
