SANTA ANA, Calif.—Universal Protection Services, a provider of a range of security services, has acquired the manned security guard division of Boyd & Associates, expanding its presence across southern California, according to a news release.
“The acquisition of the manned guarding division of Boyd & Associates enables us to execute our strategy of diversifying into other vertical markets within our existing geographic footprint,” Steve Jones, Co-CEO and COO of Universal Services of America, the parent company of UPS, said in a statement. “Boyd & Associates is an excellent company and we are excited to bring over their manned guarding division.”
The manned security guard division of Boyd & Associates has primarily serviced gated communities in southern California, according to the statement. Boyd will continue to operate its alarm and patrol response divisions.
In March, Universal Protection Services expanded its reach in the Southeast with the purchase of Allegiance Security Group from Trivest Partners.
Boyd & Associates earlier this year announced it had expanded its presence in southern California's Coachella Valley with the purchase of an alarm company there.
