MELVILLE, N.Y.-Verint Systems announced that France's City of Rouen Transit Authority will install Verint's Networked Video Solution on part of its municipal bus and tramway system. Verint, provides analytic software-based solutions for communications interception, networked video security and enterprise business intelligence. The networked solution will help secure citywide travel for citizens of Rouen and tourists to the area. Rouen's transit authority transports more than 58 million passengers annually.
Historic tourist destinations in Rouen include the site where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake, and the grave of Richard the Lion-Hearted, as well as some of France's greatest works of art. Transit personnel will use the Verint system to monitor the safety of passengers as well as to cut back on vandalism and crime on the city's busses and trams. The solution will be delivered in conjunction with Verint partner SLE, a provider of video surveillance systems for urban transport networks in France.
