PROVO, Utah – Smart home company Vivint, in partnership with its Vivint Gives Back charity, announced that it hit new milestones after another successful year of charitable activities.
Thanks to the help of the community, Vivint and company employees, Vivint Gives Back was able to impact the lives of over 6,000 people across the globe, raising nearly $3 million for different charitable programs ranging from disaster relief to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) camps. At the beginning of 2022 Vivint Gives Back started by giving support to Ukrainian refugees, providing a total of $300,000 in support and supplies to those affected.
Vivint Gives Back also expanded on a 2021 program that allowed them to send 1000 underrepresented K-12 children to STEM camps across the country for the summer. Vivint Gives Back partnered with the Utah Jazz to send one child to a STEM camp for every assist the Utah Jazz had during home games for the 2021-2022 season, and both groups look forward to continuing their partnership for this program into the 2022-2023 season.
Other charitable initiatives include “Impact Trips,” international humanitarian efforts that see Vivint employees traveling across the globe to provide aid to people and communities in need. In 2022, 600 volunteers from Vivint Smart Home traveled to Costa Rica to help communities with service projects that included building homes, community centers, and playgrounds as well as installing solar lights. The team completed 70 projects in total, giving 12,600 volunteer hours and impacting the lives of 1,300.
“It has been a landmark year for Vivint Gives Back and we’re so happy to be able to help those in need across the globe,” said Nitin Abraham, president of Vivint Gives Back. “We owe it all to the dedicated Vivint employees and community members who participate with Vivint Gives Back each year, and we look forward to continuing to grow the organization as we work to create a sense of community and home for those who otherwise would go without.”
Vivint Gives Back closed out the year with their 15th annual Sub for Santa program that helps children in need by providing gifts, winter coats, and school supplies to children. 1200 Sub for Santa volunteers served as many as 3000 children at 75 locations and accrued donations from Vivint employees in excess of $400k.
