Sciens announces majority investment from Carlyle

SAN FRANCISCO—Sciens Building Solutions, a full-service commercial fire and life safety company, announced today that it has reached a definitive agreement to sell a majority stake to funds managed by global investment firm Carlyle .
The Company’s senior management team, as well as current owner Huron Capital, will retain minority equity stakes in the business. Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.

Three months after helping LG Electronics relaunch its security products in the U.S., Observint Technologies announced today that it's acquired access control provider Infinias.
Owned by The Carlyle Group, Observint Technologies was formed in 2006 with the goal of acquiring security-focused companies. Observint acquired Supercircuits in 2006. It subsequently bought Security Cameras Direct, DIGIOP and SC Technologies.
