Patent office grants Mobotix request for review
NEW YORK—The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted Mobotix’s request for a review of four e-Watch patents, Mobotix announced Dec. 18.
A federal court agreed to Mobotix’s motion to stay litigation pending a patent review; e-Watch filed a patent-infringement case against Mobotix in San Antonio Federal Court, according to the release.
Government officials have agreed that information Mobotix provided the patent office showed it was likely Mobotix would succeed in its efforts to show the claims in question were not patentable, according to the statement.
“We are pleased that the USPTO granted our requests for patent review,” said Steve Gorski, Mobotix general manager, in a prepared statement. “This serves not only to our benefit, but to the benefit of all manufacturers and every user of modern IP video surveillance solutions.”
