10-digit dialing begins for Broward

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla.-An overlay plan for area code 954 will mean the beginning of 10-digit dialing here starting April 1.

State regulators approved in September 2000 the overlay plan and a year later allowed 10-digit dialing on a voluntary basis. According to a report in the Sun-Sentinel, some alarm companies had asked the Florida Public Service Commission for an extension in certain areas to complete the conversion.

The new area code will be 754.

Security Broadband expands to Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS-Security Broadband Corp. and Cox Communications announced that it has expanded its SafeVillage home security monitoring offering to Cox customers in the Las Vegas area.

The SafeVillage system, an audio and video enabled monitoring system, is delivered to homes via Cox's broadband infrastructure.

Integrated Security signs deal with Easter-Owens
IRVING, Texas-Integrated Security Systems announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Intelli-Site, has signed a deal with Easter-Owens Integrated Systems to use the Intelli-Site NT product, a system integration software package, in future projects.

Easter-Owens designs and develops turnkey solutions for integrated security systems, security monitoring, and intrusion and detection systems.

Lars Halverson, president and chief executive officer of Intelli-Site Inc. said that that the company was extremely excited about its product becoming a standard offering in the corrections and the law enforcement sectors.
