ADT strengthens its monitoring with deeper I-View Now integration New API-model increases business efficiencies, ease of adding accounts in I-View Now’s platform

HENDERSON, Nev.—I-View Now, a cloud-based central station video platform, deepens product integration with ADT for video verification and central station video monitoring services.

“We're developing an API with ADT so that when accounts are built in ADT's normal business process, they're automatically built in I-View Now,” Larry Folsom, president of I-View Now, told Security Systems News.

“This is a real reduction of labor in terms of building accounts and managing accounts,” Folsom said. “Previously, activating different types of services or different functions at sites was not always that easy, and the API that we're developing with ADT makes that an automatic process.”

Don Young, ADT's chief information officer, told SSN by email, “ADT is working with I-View Now to develop a central station video strategy to include video device management and video verification.”

ADT will now be able to monitor devices for video loss and cameras that are masked or offline through this API. Folsom gave another example of business efficiencies gained through this integration: If an account had been cancelled with ADT, services to those devices can be turned off through the API instead of through a separate I-View Now application.

“These integrations bring forth what our industry does best, which is professional monitoring. We're going to be able to notify the end user and/or contact the responsible party if the device isn't working properly,” Folsom said. I-View Now won an ESX Innovation Award this year for its Advanced Video Management and Device Health Monitoring Platform.

Young said, “Key elements to the strategy are an API for account building and management and an integration to ADT Pulse for video verification.”

The Pulse integration is important because “it's an affordable video verification solution that reaches a broader customer base and lowers ADT's creation costs,” according to Folsom.

I-View Now has begun multiple integrations—ADT Pulse video verification (Icontrol), ADT Partner video recorder, and ADT Partner cloud video—that creates new recurring revenue opportunities. Essentially, in addition to simplifying account management, I-View Now will be adding video verification and central station video monitoring services to ADT's video strategy.

These integrations should be complete by Q1 2017, Folsom said.
