TULSA, Okla.—ASG CEO Joe Nuccio said his latest acquisition, announced Dec. 3, of TnT Security is “like the Southwest Airlines of alarm companies.”
“I've looked at a lot of companies over the years, and this is among the top 10 in terms of how well it was built, its efficiency, strategy, and the extreme loyalty of its customers to the brand,” Nuccio told Security Systems News.
TnT, which is 80 percent residential right now, has concentrated on “one panel, one type of service,” Nuccio said. This strategy has worked extremely well, noted Ralph Masino, ASG CFO. “They've had a 30-percent CAGR since 2006,” he said.
It has 60 employees; more than 15,000 accounts; and two offices, a headquarters here and branch in Oklahoma City.
Nuccio said he plans to continue to grow the company's resi business, but he also considers TnT a perfect platform to launch ASG's security offerings to large commercial and government entities.
“We want to double the size of ASG's Oklahoma market organically within three to five years,” he said.
Because the TnT brand is so well known in the area, ASG will take its time rebranding. The former owner of TnT is retiring, but all of the employees will stay with the company. ASG expects to hire additional employees as it launches commercial offerings in early 2011.
It has been more than a year since ASG made an acquisition of this size. “In 2010, we purposely took our time. We slowed down on acquisitions and we continued to build out our infrastructure,” Nuccio said. However, he characterized ASG's acquisition pipeline for 201l as robust.
ASG VP of sales and marketing Bob Ryan said ASG is ready for “hyper growth” in Oklahoma and elsewhere. Acquisition Funding Services advised the seller on the deal.
