DFT’s central earns UL certification FREDONIA, N.Y. - DFT Security has received certification from Underwriters Laboratories for its new central station. The company provides its more than 8,500 customers in western New York and northern Pennsylvania with 24-hour central station monitoring, intrusion alarms, smoke and fire detection, access control systems, video surveillance, temperature monitoring and flood monitoring from the facility. According to DFT, 12 months of planning and improvements went into getting the facility certified, including enhanced physical protection, establishment of minimum staffing levels and the creation of redundancy in the case of equipment failure. Security Partners opens central station LANCASTER, Pa. - Security Partners LLC, founded by security industry veterans Ron Bodnar and Pat Egan recently opened its contract monitoring business (SSN, September 2003). In addition to providing monitoring for customers of Egan’s other company, Select Security, the new company will offer wholesale monitoring services nationwide for companies that do not operate their own central stations. From its Underwriters Laboratories-certified central station, Security Partners will provide web-based services, fax, e-mail, paging, auto-dialing, automatic call delivery, two-way voice communication and video alarm verification. Acadian On Watch goes with Dice LAFAYETTE, La. - Acadian On Watch, a division of Acadian Ambulance, has implemented Bay City, Mich.-based Dice Corp.’s integrated suite of alarm automation software. The company said it chose Dice’s suite for its integrated web access, service management and video and GPS monitoring, which it said should increase operator efficiency and dealer satisfaction.
