SCHAUMBURG, Ill.—Convergint Technologies, a global service-based systems integration company based here, acquired Commercial Systems Group, an Orlando, Fla.-based integrator with a dedicated focus on fire and life safety.

“Dino DeRose and Chris Inman have built a strong fire and life safety business, and we are thrilled to have them and their team join us,” Ken Lochiatto, Convergint Technologies CEO, said in the announcement, noting that all 77 CSG colleagues will be joining the Convergint organization.

Lochiatto told Security Systems News that Convergint works diligently to find companies on the fire side of the business that would be a good fit for Convergint.

“This year we will eclipse a billion dollars and north of 10 percent of our business is in the fire business, which shows that we have had incredible organic growth on the fire side,” he said. “We see Florida as a terrific market from a fire standpoint for us. A year ago we did the ISS acquisition that gave us great fire coverage in Southern Florida and this CSG deal gives us great coverage in central Florida. CSG brings a strong service focus and talent level that will help our team overall grow.”

CSG has built strong relationships with many key customers throughout the Florida region, he noted, including those in the entertainment, transportation, multi-tenant facilities and educational markets.

“CSG has been experiencing record growth in recent years, and teaming with Convergint will provide us with deeper technical and financial resources to further capitalize on the myriad of opportunities in the Florida region,” Dino DeRose, president of Commercial Systems Group, said in the announcement. “Our similar service-centric cultures will make this an easy transition for our colleagues and customers.”

The CSG deal marks the sixth acquisition for Convergint this year. Lochaitto said that he expects a few more deals to be completed by year’s end, adding that each acquisition is an opportunity to further add to Convergint’s culture of service to customers, colleagues and local communities.
