Cook Security Group completes new headquarters

PORTLAND, Ore.—Cook Security Group in early November announced the completion of its new headquarters based here. The three-story, 27,000 square-foot facility consolidates the company's three previous buildings, includes CSG's network operations center and will house 150 of the company's more than 300 employees.

Brian Cook, company CEO, said he was surprised by the significant construction rules and regulations when building close to an airport. “We understood the complexities of this project but it is the perfect location 2 miles from the Portland International Airport and the first stop on the MAX light rail line. It's extremely convenient to fly customers in, employees in for training, and for our sales and management team to fly out with our national presence,” he told Security Systems News in an email interview. “It was a bit more challenging building next to the airport and took longer than normal, but was well worth the wait and exceeded our expectations.”

Having more elements of the business under one roof, as opposed to the three buildings it occupied previously, is another benefit of the new facility. This change “has enhanced our collaboration significantly with all departments, particularly network operations and our software development,” Cook said. “We've also seen a huge boost in efficiencies and communication.”

Cook Security Group broke ground on the new facility in September 2017 and initially looked to have it completed by August 2018. The move positions CSG to stay in its security and ATM service markets while also pursuing more managed services and cybersecurity business. In addition, the new facility has a full gym and a rooftop deck.

Randy Neu, Cook Security's CMO, said in an email interview that the response to the new building has been, “Overwhelmingly positive with our employees, vendors, customers, friends and families.” The company showcased the new building with a grand opening at its Technology and Innovation Summit, an event covering how CSG is leveraging technology to serve its customers.
