Diebold earns HSPD-12 certification Brief

NORTH CANTON, Ohio--Diebold, a security systems integrator specializing in financial and government work, earned in January its certification from the United States government's General Services Administration to deliver security integration services that meet the requirements of HSPD-12, which requires uniformity in card issuance and management. This qualifies Diebold to provide systems that meet FIPS-201 standards, which govern that uniformity. Diebold purchased integrator Actcom, based in Washington, DC, in July. Describing the rationale for the purchase, John Stroia, vice president of government and monitoring solutions, said, "As we learned more and more about the government space, we felt we needed a pretty good HSPD-12 solution."
