Elcor relocates to larger location

HICKSVILLE, N.Y. - Security equipment distributor Elcor International recently relocated its Long Island branch to larger space here, triple the size of its previous location. The leased facility boasts 4,000 square feet and unlike Elcor's previous location here, features a showroom and more room to stock products. "The main thing the dealer is going to be pleased with is the extensive inventory that is there now," said Charles Geschwind, president of Elcor. "Most customers in Long Island prefer to pick up materials instead of having them shipped." Elcor moved into the location in early September, but held its grand opening in early October. To support the larger facility, Geschwind said more sales people have been added, with plans to add two more, plus a customer service person over the next few months. The building also serves as a branch for Supply Dog, a web-based distributor of security products that Elcor bought last year for an undisclosed price. "The Supply Dog name is on the building beside Elcor's," said Geschwind.
