ISC taps IT sector for keynote Cisco's Emerging Markets CTO Jouret to kick-off conference

NORWALK, Conn.--Guido Jouret, chief technology officer of Cisco's Emerging Markets Technology Group, will deliver the keynote address on March 28 at 8:30 a.m. at the Sands Expo Center, Room 501 at this year's ISC West, conference organizers announced on March 8. At Cisco, Jouret is responsible for developing technologies in new markets that will spur the company's future business growth. Prior to his role as CTO, Jouret was the global head of the Innovation Team for Cisco's Internet Business Solutions Group. "It's very significant to have Guido [pronounced "Gi-do"] keynote at ISC West, partly because of Cisco's evolution as a security player, but more importantly because of the convergence trends occurring in the marketplace overall," said Neil Wu Becker, PR manager, security, for Cisco Systems. "It's a great time for Cisco to describe how we can provide added value to the industry. We truly feel we can enrich the marketplace." According to Beth Blake, the ISC public relations director, "The impact of convergence on the security industry as a whole is not going away, and will only increase as we go forward. Guido will be talking about the importance of strategic business partners, and how that will drive the industry toward IP. I think everybody needs to hear about that in order to make good business decisions going forward."
