It’s a golden anniversary for ASIS’ Annual Seminar and Exhibits

More than 17,000 security industry professionals are expected to attend this year’s ASIS International 2004 50th Annual Seminar and Exhibits in Dallas. This year’s show, which focuses on the homeland security market and opens Monday, Sept. 27, will be full of events, but the spotlight will be on the 2,100 booths and 800 exhibitors at the Dallas Convention Center. Attendees can stroll the convention floor and experience the newest offerings in security technology and services. But the conference is not only about new products. More than 135 seminars and educational programs, along with a host of networking opportunities are scheduled for the Dallas-based convention. The event’s opening ceremonies are scheduled for Monday. The Vocal Majority, a chorus consisting of more than 100 male singers performing a cappella, will make a return appearance to ASIS following a well-received 1998 performance. There are also a host of other events scheduled throughout the conference, from the annual President’s Reception at Dallas’ Old City Park on Monday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., to the ASIS Foundation Dinner on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. Also on Wednesday morning, Rudolph Guiliani, the former mayor of New York City, will present the keynote speech. But all good things must eventually come to a end. The event’s closing luncheon and ceremony will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30. The Capitol Steps, a troupe of former Congressional staffers that monitor events and people on Capitol Hill and the White House, perform at noon.
