Manufacturers gain marketing source

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. - Two veterans of the security industry have partnered with another group to offer marketing services for smaller security product manufacturers. The company, Applied Marketing Group, was founded by Jim Farren and Mark Chekos, who together have 54 years in the security industry. Their partners are Brian Sullivan and Mark Hinrich, who are veterans of the security industry as well, but were running a company called Virtual Security Technology, which provided a similar service. Together, the group created AMG to provide a soup to nuts approach on the marketing front, offering their customers expertise on how to market products, who they should target for potential customers, which rep. firm should be hired and how to best use tradeshow dollars. “We can accelerate them into the market and get them where they need to be very quickly,” said Farren. AMG will also help clients make contacts with the integration and distribution channels. “Many companies in this position hire an internal person to do this,” said Chekos, senior vice president of sales and marketing for AMG. “We are replacing that person within a company.”
