LAS VEGAS—Potter Electric Signal celebrated a new partnership with Japanese manufacturer Nohmi, which brings with it a new, full line of fire alarm products, at a June 8 reception during the NFPA show here.
Potter president Bernie Lears was greeting guests, who packed the room. It's a chance to show off what the two have come up with, said Potter director of product management for F&S division Jeff Hendrickson, and “the first step in a long and prosperous relationship.”
Bruce LaRue, president of Potter's sprinkler business, noted that the sprinkler business has had a full complement of products for many years and now “the fire alarm side is catching up with the sprinkler side.” The collaboration between Potter and Nohmi is “another step in that growth.”
Potter and Nohmi engineers jointly designed the new line of intelligent fire protection systems. The line includes new panels, detectors and modules, which complement and complete Potter and Nohmi's existing lines.
Potter executives say that as privately held business, which underwent a management buyout in early 2008 [http://www.securitysystemsnews.com/index.php?p=article&id=ss2008037pcXgI], Potter is able to quickly respond and react to its customers. The combination of Potter and Nohmi, they say, brings together technology, quality, reliability and unique products. Founded in 1916, Nohmi Bosai is the largest fire protection provider in Japan.
