SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Following the disclosure that AT&T Corp. plans to reduce staff at its call center here, Rapid Response announced plans to hire up to 130 employees during the next 12 months. As a result, the third-party monitoring firm based here, issued a statement that it intends to hire approximately 12 people per month throughout the year. AT&T Corp. who intends to maintain a presence in the area at the facility, a spokesperson said, did not release how many people would be affected by the decision. Rapid Response moved into its new 40,000-square-foot facility late last year, and the company plans to expand onto the West Coast in the future. CSAA produces third edition of alarm systems guide VIENNA, Va. - Starting this month, the Central Station Alarm Association’s Practical Guide to Central Station Burglar Alarm Systems, third edition, is available for purchase. Pre-production of the guide ended in late January, and printing began at the end of February. The reference book is published for use by insurance agents, underwriters, law enforcement personnel and anyone interested in learning about alarm systems. The association announced member and quantity discounts for the more than 50-page systems guide. SIS launches new, redesigned web site ORLANDO, Fla. - Security Information Systems redesigned and launched a new web site early this year. The company incorporated a user forum and online chat application on the new portal that enables customers to communicate with company support representatives via the Internet. Under the product name Alarm Center, SIS distributes software for central station automation and security management.
