SSN Cloud+ conference set for Delray Beach

SSN Cloud+ conference set for Delray Beach Industrys only cloud-focused event offers education, networking and exhibits

YARMOUTH, Maine—Security Systems News is excited to announce the dates and location for Cloud+ 2018, which will be held in Delray Beach, Fla., Sept. 5-6.

Last year's Cloud+ education program received high marks from attendees, with the majority of the sessions receiving top ratings of 4 (very good) or 5 (excellent), and with most attendee responses saying they would be returning this year and recommend the show to others.

Rob Lydic, global VP of sales, ISONAS, told SSN, "Cloud+ is the best conference I have ever been to and provided tremendous value for our company."

Laura O'Sullivan, head of marketing for Manything, told SSN, "We've implemented changes based on what we learned at Cloud+, changes that are helping our integrator partners add cloud to their business so they can benefit from a recurring monthly revenue model."

Gary Larson, president of AMT Inc., told SSN, "Cloud+ gave us an even clearer picture of where the security market is heading and who is shaping it. Cloud services will be the next big security market explosion for the foreseeable future."

Speaking of the foreseeable future, this year's day one opening keynote, Imperial Capital's managing director Rick Juarez, will give an overview of the current M&A landscape within cyber- and physical security, particularly cloud-solution providers, looking in his crystal ball as to what the future holds. He will also look at current research, including key growth areas and indicators, and future projections, challenges and opportunities.

And Cloud+ day two keynote, Agent Vi's VP sales, America, AJ Frazer, will look at how the cloud and cloud computing power can finally help the security industry realize the dream of artificial intelligence, or AI.

Overall, this year's Cloud+ program will be looking at how cloud enables new technology, how it provides many opportunities for integrators, consultants and specifiers, while giving end users the potential for ROI, BI, operational efficiencies, and a more preventive and predictive security posture that addresses cybersecurity concerns as well.

One session, “Can Cloud Solve the Data Problem?” will look at how all of the data being produced today, including video, is stored, protected, mined and leveraged in the cloud for better security and better RMR for integrators and ROI for the end user. The panel features Tom Maggio, owner, ProActive Storage and Monitoring; Brandon Reich, surveillance business leader, Pivot3; and Gabe Kazarian, director, Iron Cloud Product, Data Management, Iron Mountain. Agent Vi's Frazer will moderate the session.

Another exciting panel, and a first for Cloud+, will feature only consultants and specifiers, who will give their perspective on what they are seeing and hearing from their clients. The session will feature Drew Deatherage, vice president and co-founder, Crux Technology & Security Solutions; Rodney Thayer, convergence engineer, Smithee Solutions LLC; and Pierre Bourgeix, president, ESICONVERGENT. The session will be moderated by Jumbi Edulbehram, regional president, Americas, Oncam.

In addition to the keynotes and many panel-type sessions, there are two presentations, one on each day, that will provide some great perspective on cloud's role in security, including one from Brivo CEO Steve Van Till entitled, “Cloud Holds The Key To Leveraging New Tech,” and one from Bourgeix entitled, “One Pane Of Glass: Convergence In The Cloud.”

Plus, we will be looking again this year at how integrators are overcoming challenges of selling cloud solutions. And we will be looking at this from both the integrator's perspective and the supplier's perspective in a two-part session, “How Cloud Can Help Integrators.”

In addition to the education and valuable networking opportunities with those who are pioneering within the cloud community, there will be a trade show portion featuring cloud providers exhibiting the latest and greatest cloud solutions.
