BOCA RATON, Fla.— ADT has partnered with Cambridge Mobile Telematics, a leading mobile telematics provider, to allow ADT’s Personal Safety App SoSecure to offer crash detection and emergency response. By teaming with Cambridge, ADT’s personal safety app, which is available for download on iOS and Android, help keeps roads and drivers safer.
“As consumers continue to rely on more intuitive and interactive security products and services, ADT is expanding beyond the home to help deliver protection and convenience in more places,” Leah Page, VP Mobile Security & Strategic Projects. “The peace of mind provided by home security should follow you when you leave your home. Already, ADT’s medical alert and fall detection has been credited with saving many lives, and now we are applying that same approach to automotive safety.”
With the help of sensors and artificial intelligence, Page pointed out that ADT’s partnered solution has immediate crash detection that sends crash alerts to professional monitoring agents, noting, “From providing reassurance to sending emergency services to a user’s location, the agent offers real-time support.”
Crash detection alerts send the following data to trained agents:
- Last reported location
- Time
- Customer ID
- Accident severity, including G-force and speed
When a crash is detected, the user will receive a pop-up notification in their SoSecure app. The pop-up message will ask if help is needed and prompt the user to either tap “Send Help” or “I’m OK.” Providing critical details like crash severity and GPS location enables monitoring agents to help responders potentially save valuable time in emergency situations and improve outcomes.
SoSecure helps users by offering services within moments of an accident and automatically collecting data to expedite help. Integrating Cambridge Mobile Telematics’ technology into the SoSecure app helps protect users on-the-go 24/7, provides streamlined accident management, and crash response regardless of which vehicle they’re in.
The crash detection technology is integrated within the SoSecure app and operates based on different severity tiers. “When a low severity crash is detected, we confirm if the user is okay or needs emergency assistance as well as provide reassurance in what can be quite a traumatic experience,” said Page. “For severe accidents, we immediately reach out to the user and alert first responders to their location.”
