ALBERTVILLE, Ala.—A Jan. 19 story from the Sand Mountain Reporter reports the alarm permit renewal deadline in Albertville is here. Commercial and residential alarm owners have until the end of January to renew their 3-year alarm permits.
The fee for the three-year renewal is $25 for businesses and $15 for residents. Payments after Jan. 31 will be tagged with a $25 late fee. The police records office at 201 S. Broad St. accepts payments. Call 256-891-8224 for information.
The permits actually expired Jan. 1, but police gave alarm owners a 30-day grace period. Renewal notifications were mailed out in November.
Albertville's alarm ordinance has been on the books since 2004 and charges $100 for the sixth false alarm in a one-year period, and another $25 for each one after the sixth. After the 12th false alarm in a calendar, the additional charge bumps up to $50
