OGDEN, Utah – AvantGuard, a professional monitoring solutions provider, has announced the acquisition of Canadian based Armstrong’s National Alarm Monitoring.
The move also sees AvantGuard pick up Armstrong’s monitoring centers and officers in Dartmouth, Montreal, Edmonton, and Moncton. The acquisition now gives AvantGuard eight different monitoring centers spread across the United States and Canada.
"We are excited to add Armstrong's people and locations to the AvantGuard monitoring family," AvantGuard President Justin Bailey told Security Systems News. "The Armstrong's acquisition will allow us to extend our premier monitoring platform into Canada further enhancing the great work the Armstrong's team already is doing. We are excited to bring new capabilities and features to the Canadian monitoring space. Our expansion into this new market will allow of our existing monitoring partners to more easily grow their services into Canada through a single monitoring provider."
“AvantGuard is the perfect match for Armstrong’s Monitoring,” said Armstrong’s founder, Gary Armstrong. “Both organizations share an intense commitment to service with core values built around genuinely caring for the safety and wellbeing of others.” AvantGuard has indicated that Armstrong will remain as a strategic advisor for the company. Armstrong’s National Monitoring Centers first opened its doors in 1989 and grew steadily to serving more than 800 dealers.
AvantGuard has plans to heavily invest in its new property by upgrading its technology and facilities infrastructure. AvantGuard has over half a million dollars in technology investments alone planned in the first year. A company in the Becklar umbrella, AvantGuard was recently a recipient of the 2022 Monitoring Center of the Year Award from The Monitoring Association (TMA).
“The Armstrong’s brand is the model of commitment and caring to their dealers,” Bailey added. “In sharing the same passion and commitment for servicing our dealers and their customers, we are happy and proud to welcome the Armstrong’s team and brand into the AG family.” According to Bailey, Armstrong’s National Monitoring Centers will continue in the same places under the same brand with their current employees.
“Gary Armstrong built a tremendous business,” Vertex Capital’s Barry Epstein (AvantGuard’s advisor) said. “The acquisition of Armstrong’s Monitoring by AvantGuard will open the door to expanded resources and technologies for Canadian dealers and their subscribers.”
Armstrong’s and AvantGuard will exhibit together at CANASA’s Security Canada Central (SCC) in Toronto, Canada, on October 19 through 20. It will be the first public appearance of the two as a combined entity.
