Axis Communications Expands Presence in D.C. Area with upgraded AEC

CHELMSFORD, Mass. — Axis Communications celebrated the grand re-opening of its Axis Experience Center (AEC) in Arlington, Va., with the updated facility addressing growing market demands in the D.C. area.

The original Axis Experience Center served various industries including government and law enforcement agencies, critical infrastructure, city surveillance, transportation, education, retail, healthcare, and more.

Axis Communications identifies Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia as a hub for a variety of organizations - most notably, of course, the majority of U.S. Federal Government agencies. This newly upgraded AEC has been made even more accessible for stakeholders in these areas to meet with local Axis experts, engage with engineers, sales, and marketing staff, as well as interact with the latest in intelligent surveillance technology. Situated on the 12th and 14th floors of the Potomac Tower, the facility also provides panoramic views of the Potomac River and D.C. monuments from the building terrace.

“Axis is thrilled to be opening this reimagining of our D.C. location, bringing an expanded set of state-of-the-art security solutions and enhanced support to the heart of the nation’s capital,” said Paul Winsker, business area director, Mid-Atlantic at Axis Communications. “Our AECs around the Americas and the rest of the globe provide us with a vital avenue for forging trusting partnerships with local organizations and providing them with an easy and accessible way of testing our suite of advanced technology solutions in authentic environments. As part of our overall mission to foster a smarter and safer world, we’re committed to driving excellence and innovation in every local AEC community, and we look forward to this new chapter in D.C.”

The 13,500-square-foot AEC includes a variety of new features and distinct design elements such as:

  • Two state-of-the-art Security Operation Centers
  • A dedicated Federal Demo Space for demonstrating a variety of products and solutions that comply with complex regulations and requirements of the federal government, like NDAA and TAA compliance
  • Multiple types of analytic scenarios configured around the space that will demonstrate actions like audio messaging and siren/strobe profiles, creating an interactive space for customers to see the cameras in action.
  • Several specialized products like thermals and radar on display, working in tandem throughout the space.
  • Four conference rooms, as well as a training and certification room, available for Axis partners and customers to book to host meetings, trainings, and conferences, and two designated community areas for Axis partners and customers to use for any downtime.

Axis, along with local partners, customers, and stakeholders, celebrated the D.C. AEC grand reopening on Aug. 27 and 28 with a formal ribbon-cutting event featuring live music, open bars, hors d’oeuvres, and more. Private tours of the upgraded facility will also be given by local Axis staff.

The D.C. AEC is located at 1001 19th St N, Ste 1400, Arlington, VA 22209. To schedule a time to tour the new Axis Experience Center or to learn more about the facility and its resources, please email dcaec@axis.com.
