Collaboration and Celebration!

Happy New Year to all our readers!

As we start what we hope is a successful 2022 for the security industry, we hope you did not put those New Year’s Eve wine glasses, party hats and noisemakers away just yet as we kicked off the first week of the new year with not one, but two exciting announcements that are worthy of cueing up Kool and the Gang and celebrating!

First, we announced earlier this week that Security Systems News is the founding media sponsor and partner of the inaugural SIA Women in Security Forum Power 100. This annual initiative honors 100 women in the security industry who are role models for actively advancing diversity, inclusion, innovation and leadership in the community.

We are proud to sponsor this groundbreaking recognition program to shine a light on 100 female security professionals who have made their mark in what is arguably a male-dominated industry and have become role models for other women to follow.

As SIA Women in Security Forum Chair Kasia Hanson proudly put it when the Power 100 initiative was announced, “The Power 100 is a new way for the SIA Women in Security Forum to celebrate the extraordinary leaders in our industry who are raising the bar, breaking barriers and advancing opportunities for women.”

This collaboration with the SIA Women in Security Forum is just another example of why we at Security Systems News are proud to sponsor initiatives like the Power 100 that celebrate women who are inspirations to other females to not only join the security industry, but also strive to become their own success stories.

We can’t wait to hear the announcement of the Power 100 honorees in March and watch them receive their well-deserved recognition during the ISC West trade show in Las Vegas that month.

Speaking of collaboration, I always love to use the term “hot off the press” whenever breaking news happens, and today is no different as we literally just announced the names of the women we are highlighting in each issue of SSN as part of our Women in Security series, in partnership with the SIA Women in Security Forum.

For more than a decade, SSN spotlighted women as part of our Women in Security December issue. Now, thanks to our collaboration with the SIA Women in Security Forum, we celebrate the achievements of these outstanding and inspiring female security professionals in each issue of SSN, and we’re honored to do so for hopefully years to come!

Notice how collaboration between two or more parties leads to special things. For us, collaborating with the SIA Women in Security Forum has led to some exciting initiatives that we proudly support as we highlight outstanding women who have achieved notable success in the security industry.

Joining forces for a common goal. That’s what collaboration is all about. And with the two announcements we made to start off 2022, to quote Kool and the Gang, let’s all celebrate and have a good time!
