YARMOUTH, Maine—TechSec Solutions programmers today announced that Gareth Webley, chief information security officer and VP IT Security and Compliance for Eaton Corporation, will give the keynote address at this year's TechSec Solutions, which will take place Feb. 13-15 in Delray Beach, Fla.
Webley joined Eaton Corp., a diversified power management company with 2009 sales of $11.9 billion, this year. It has 70,000 employees and does business in 150 countries. He has global responsibility for data security, information protection, privacy, and records management. Webley is responsible for intellectual property protection and export compliance and also drives the strategy behind a comprehensive identity management solution that will span logical and physical security.
Before joining Eaton, Webley was chief information security officer for CVS Caremark, Inc., where he also had responsibility for technology risk management. CVS Caremark is a Fortune 18 company and the largest retail drug store chain in the United States. Prior to his work at CVS, he was chief security officer of National City Corporation (now PNC), which was one of the nation's largest financial holding companies in the United States. In that role he was responsible for both information and physical security for the corporation.
In his keynote, Webley will reflect on the unique and groundbreaking journey undertaken at NCC, one of the first corporations in the country to bring physical and data security completely together under a true CSO. He'll outline the benefits and challenges of a functional converged security team then, now, and in the future.
