General Dynamics awarded contract to enhance security at LAX

FAIRFAX, Va.—General Dynamics Information Technology was awarded a $27 million contract by the city of Los Angeles to enhance the closed-circuit television and video management system at the Los Angeles International Airport, according to a company statement.
General Dynamics will design, install, configure and integrate a video management and storage system, including more than 2,500 interior and exterior cameras and 120 workstations throughout the airport. The CCTV and video management system will integrate with airport alarms, sensors, audio feeds and its computer-aided dispatch system. General Dynamics will train more than 120 users.
"General Dynamics has supported several critical programs for the Los Angeles airport over the past five years," Edward Hudson, vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Information Technology's Network and Mission Systems sector, said in the statement. "We will leverage our knowledge of the Los Angeles airport systems and protocols to deliver an integrated video surveillance system that enhances local and national security for more than 61 million passengers annually.”
Previous projects with Los Angeles World Airports, the city's airport operations department, have included relocating the IT hub and integrating an existing video monitoring system into the airport systems, the statement said.
