ST. LOUIS—Hackett Security CEO Michael Hackett expects to expand his base of video monitoring customers as the result of the acquisition of Brinkmann Security, a 70 percent commercial security company based in Waterloo, Ill.
The acquisition, terms of which were not released, was announced Jan. 3.
“We've been doing video monitoring for almost 10 years. We do everything from simple video verification to guard tours to parking-lot sweeps,” Hackett said.
Brinkmann Security customers include a number of franchisees that Hackett believes will be interested in video monitoring.
Hackett bought the company from the estate of John Brinkmann. Brinkmann had been in business for 35 years. Brinkmann's footprint includes southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. It also includes a number of high-end residential accounts in St. Louis.
Hackett Security has 68 employees. In addition to its headquarters here, it has branch offices in southern Missouri, Alton, Ill., Chicago, and Phoenix, Ariz.
The company has a UL-listed central station. “We are very proud of the fact that we have a [UL] 2050 license for national industrial security and UL 681, among others. … We have a lot of different ratings here,” Hackett said.
In addition to video monitoring, Hackett offers card access, CCTV, burg and fire systems.
“We're actively looking to make acquisitions,” he said. “We really like the Chicago, St. Louis and Memphis markets and also want to add to our branch office in Phoenix, Ariz.”
