Hikvision and ObjectVideo sign agreement

HANGZOU, China and RESTON, Va.—Video surveillance provider Hikvision announced March 3 that it has signed a worldwide patent licensing agreement with video analytics provider ObjectVideo.
"Hikvision has a rich intelligent video analytics product line. This line plays an important role in both data mining and data service,” said Yangzhong Hu, president of Hikvision, in a prepared statement.
“We are very pleased to have Hikvision join our patent licensing program,” noted Raul Fernandez, chairman and CEO of ObjectVideo, in a prepared statement. “Hikvision is our first partner from China. We believe Hikvision's continuous investment in the video analytics field will reinforce its already impressive market position.”
Hikvision is one of 18 companies joining ObjectVideo's patent licensing program. ObjectVideo holds 55 U.S. and international patents in the field of video analytics and also has 40 additional U.S. and international patents pending.
