ST. LAURENT, Quebec—Hikvision Canada on Aug. 4 opened its first office here, just outside of Montreal, to service Canadian customers and parts of the United States.
“We [have] had a Canadian team for a while, but this is the official opening of our office in Montreal,” Jeffrey He, president of Hikvision Canada, told Security Systems News. “The Canadian organization is led by myself … and by Lorne Terry our director of sales for Canada.”
He said that the support team based in the new office—which is fully bilingual in French and English—will expand to the U.S. in late 2015 or early 2016.
“Hikvision's Montreal office will be served as a technical support center, initially for French-speaking Canada, and later expanding to the entire east coast of North America,” He said.
“Hikvision is looking toward continued, year-after-year, double-digit growth through the addition of regional sales support and field application engineers to be deployed throughout strategic locations in Canada,” said He.
He stressed the importance of having a physical presence. “We need people on the ground interfacing with our distributing partners and dealer partners,” He said.
The company is also working on a new solutions team “to make inroads to the project-based market,” He said. “This team is aimed to provide stronger services to the A&E community and system integrators, with products and technologies that best fit their applications.”
The solutions team will help Hikvision increase its North American market penetration, He said.
