YARMOUTH, Maine—Butchko•ESI, led by Senior Partner Pierre Bourgeix and CEO Benjamin M. Butchko, announced the addition of industry luminary Jim Henry to the team. Henry, an independent consultant who has worked with systems integrators Kratos and Securitas, brings a wealth of industry experience and knowledge to an already super-talented team.
This announcement comes approximately one year after Bourgeix and Butchko joined forces, combining two successful consulting firms into one to bring their converged physical-cybersecurity solutions together to solve today’s complex challenges facing the industry. ESI Convergent founded by Bourgeix focuses on converged cyber/physical security. Butchko, Inc. concentrated on physical security, risk and resilience.
“Butchko•ESI is excited to welcome Jim Henry to the team,” Bourgeix and Butchko told Security Systems News. “We have shared membership in advisory boards and worked together for successful project deployments with Jim for over 10 years. Through that time our respect for his knowledge and dedication to bettering our security industry continually grew. With Jim’s expertise and experience, we directly help security integrators run their businesses with greater success. Our traditional design customers also benefit through smoother project execution as we incorporate Jim’s years of security integrator lessons learned into our designs. His inclusion is definitely a win-win for Butchko•ESI and our customers.”
Henry, who is an inaugural SSN Security Legend Award winner, has spent his life in security, from the early days of running a business with his family, taking that business public and then working for very large global integrators like Kratos and Securitas.
“I am both honored and excited to be joining Ben and Pierre at Butchko•ESI,” Henry told SSN. “My career as an integrator and advisory board member at Security Specifiers provided me the opportunity to work with both Butchko, Inc. and ESI Convergent on multiple projects over the past 10 years. Over that time, I developed respect for their wisdom and professionalism. Their vision on how to mitigate risk for their clients through the numerous disruptive changes our industry has (and continues to) really resonate with me. That was made possible via their foresight to build expertise in their firms to vet the viability and applicability of new technologies and products. That knowledge is essential to both end users and integrators for successful deployment and support of effective, ‘state of the art’ security systems.”
Henry pointed out that he was “very happy” to see Bourgeix and Butchko joining forces last year to form Butchko•ESI. “They share the same business philosophy and integrity," he said. "When they invited me to join their firm, I immediately understood how bringing my 50-plus years as a systems integrator (with a similar business philosophy to theirs) would help expand Butchko•ESI to assist in both the technical and business development of systems integrators challenged by the rapid changes occurring in our industry.”
