LAKE FOREST, Calif.—Kwikset's SmartCode 914 Deadbolt with Home Connect technology is now available, the company announced Jan. 16.
The redesigned deadbolt has a new exterior style, smaller interior and the quiet-drive locking system, according to the statement.
"The availability of the Kwikset SmartCode 914 Deadbolt with Home Connect technology brings a much needed and often requested smaller interior footprint to the marketplace," said Keith Brandon, Kwikset director of residential access solutions, in a prepared statement. "We've heard [about the need] from consumers via formal and informal feedback. Now we're able to deliver it in a lock that provides even greater functionality than many of the products currently available in the marketplace."
The new design includes an all-metal interior escutcheon with decorative inset; 10-digit backlit keypad; dedicated lock button; BHMA grade 2 certification; Underwriters Laboratory certification with 20-minute fire rating; and a master code option allowing the user to prevent codes from being added or erased, according to the statement.
