VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.—When a widow told a local TV station she had been sleeping with a hatchet under her pillow since a burglar had stolen her gun, Power Home Technologies, a security alarm monitoring company, stepped up and provided her with an alarm system, according to a company statement.
Dave Kershaw, a Power Home Technologies representative, saw the woman's story on WKTR-TV and made a visit to her home. In addition to offering the alarm system, which included an arm/disarm remote control, Kershaw offered to make regular phone calls to assist her with her new panel.
“We were moved by her story and wanted to help,” said Ben Brookhart, CEO of Power Home Technologies. “No one should feel unsafe in their own home.”
