Professional Security Consultants and Design sued by Public Building Authority, Knox County

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.—Professional Security Consultants and Design is being sued by Knox County and the Public Building Authority for allegedly installing faulty security systems throughout the Knox County School System, according to a report by the News Sentinel, a newspaper based here.
An independent audit of security installation at two schools in the Knox County School System revealed problems with the work performed by PSCD.
An inspection by PBA technicians of the security systems at the two schools prompted them to enlist Stansell Electric Co. of Nashville to conduct a full audit, which found that electronic keypads in which a code must be punched were mounted on brick walls but had no wires connecting the panels to the doors. In addition, holes had been cut in firewalls and security system wires were run through those holes, which should have been sealed off, according to the report.
Other problems discovered by the audit were faulty security cameras that produced images too dark for viewing, and issues with cabling, the article noted.
