Calhan School District implements ZeroEyes

PHILADELPHIA — ZeroEyes, has deployed its gun detection and intelligent situational awareness platform at Calhan School District (CSD) in Calhan, Colo.

The security technology has been integrated to protect students, staff and visitors at all of the district's schools.

In the past year, the ZeroEyes Gun Violence Research Center has recorded more than 120 gun-related incidents in the state of Colorado. Recognizing the rising threat of violence, the district has integrated ZeroEyes' AI gun detection system into its existing security cameras to quickly identify illegally brandished guns and reduce response times in the event of a threat. It is the latest addition to CSD's multi-layered security plan, which also includes a school security officer with 23 years of law enforcement experience.

CSD is a highly rated public school system located approximately 30 miles east of Colorado Springs. The small rural district includes an elementary, middle and high school, which together serve approximately 430 students from pre-K through 12th grade. With a dedicated 90-member faculty and staff, the district is committed to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment.

"Calhan School District's commitment to safety is a powerful example for schools across the country," said Mike Lahiff, CEO and co-founder of ZeroEyes. "We believe this integration will greatly enhance their ability to respond to gun-related threats swiftly and effectively, and we are honored that CSD has placed their trust in us to help protect their community."
