AUSTIN, Texas—Protect America, a home security company based here, has joined with the Austin Police Department's Burglary Unit in a commitment to fight property crime in this city, according to a recent news release.
On July 16, the company presented officers with a $15,000 check. The funds will be used to supply detectives with high-tech equipment and aid in confidential operations, the release said. Among the items needed by the Burglary Unit are powerful laptop computers and technology used to make investigations more efficient.
“If you've ever been a victim of burglary, you know how terrible it is,” said Protect America CEO and founder Thad Paschall, in a prepared statement. “These officers work every day to fight those who would violate our homes and do us harm, and we're honored to support them.”
