HAWTHORNE, Calif.—Ring announced an exclusive partnership to help support alarm professionals as well as several new home security devices, features and services recently, from robotics to connectivity to computer vision.
Ring’s exclusive collaboration with The Home Depot uses custom Ring home security products and services to provide builders with an affordable, customizable solution to protect job sites big and small.
“We’ve seen how effective Ring devices can be in neighborhoods, and we’re excited to team up with The Home Depot to bring affordable, easy-to-use security solutions to job sites,” said Jamie Siminoff, founder and chief inventor of Ring. “Security of small and mid-sized sites is often overlooked, and Ring Jobsite Security directly addresses security issues contractors face. Now they can leverage the entire suite of Ring devices and services to create a personalized solution that works best for them.”
Ring Jobsite Security is centered around the all-new Ring Alarm Pro, and customers can purchase add-ons like a heavy-duty protective case for Ring Alarm Pro and Ring Power Packs, Security Cameras, Smart Lighting, and additional sensors, like the new Outdoor Contact Sensor, to bring the same comprehensive security for the home to job sites. Job site managers can customize their system to work best based on project needs, and can easily transfer the system to their next site. In the event of a power outage, with the addition of Ring Power Packs, Ring Alarm Pro will continue to protect the job site and provide 24/7 Backup Internet.
“Ring Jobsite Security will help building and construction pros protect and grow their businesses, no matter the size,” said Wes Neece, merchandising vice president of electrical and lighting at The Home Depot. “In the past, only large-scale builders have been able to afford the security necessary to protect job sites. Ring Jobsite Security demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering affordable, innovative products to our pro customers.”
Other Ring announcements include:
- Ring Alarm Pro – a first-of-its-kind home security system that combines protection against break-ins, floods, fires and network threats with the reliable connectivity of a built-in eero Wi-Fi 6 router.
- Virtual Security Guard – a new subscription service where third-party professional monitoring companies will visually monitor outdoor Ring cameras and provide the peace of mind of an on-site security guard.
- Custom Event Alerts – refined, computer vision based custom smart alerts that do everything from letting customers know when a package arrives to whether or not the garage door is open.
- Ring Always Home Cam – the first flying, autonomous home security camera that provides a variety of perspectives from a single device.
“If the last 18 months have taught us anything, it’s that technology in the home has to evolve to meet changing customer needs, and we continue to innovate and provide easy-to use solutions that help our customers protect what matters most,” said Siminoff. "That includes bringing together network security in addition to physical security, and providing options for customers when they aren’t able to immediately check in on a camera notification. With the next generation of devices and services we are announcing today, we continue to deliver on our mission to make neighborhoods safer and provide customers with peace of mind.”
In addition to product launches, Ring announced new alert types on Ring Doorbells and Cams that improve motion alerts, including Package Alerts and Custom Event Alerts.
