GREAT FALLS, Montana— Sound Investments, based here, in February won a $300,000 contract to overhaul video surveillance at the County Detention Center, according to a report by KRTV.com
The Cascade County Commission approved the bid, which includes the installation of 220 digital security cameras throughout the detention center and sheriff's office.
The new system will provide both audio and video recording at entry points, booking area, transport area, strategic corridors, and the building perimeter. Sound Investments will also receive $2,000 annually for maintenance of the system.
The full cost of the system will be covered by the sheriff's office capital improvement fund after several years of saving for the upgrade.
