YARMOUTH, Maine – Digital products, with AI features becoming more prevalent, will be the most visible at this year’s ISC West, according to the respondents to this month’s SSN News Poll.
Half of respondents reported that digital products like software platforms and AI integrations into physical security products will be the star of the show. The other half reported that digital products and physical security products like cameras, scanners, robots, barriers and more will share the spotlight.
In either case, respondents say they’re looking for something more than the latest iteration of existing products overlayed with fresh concepts.
“Excited to see this industry leading the way with new ideas,” one poll respondent wrote.
When asked, “What are you most looking forward to at this year’s show,” the focus on products remained. Respondents overwhelmingly opted for visiting exhibitor booths (78.5%), with smaller groups of respondents opting for educational events, keynote speakers and workshops (14.29%) and concerts, parties and entertainment (7.14%).
“We love ISC and seeing all the new technology, vendors and learnings it affords,” one reader wrote.
When asked, “As artificial intelligence continues to make headlines, what implementations of the technology do you expect will dominate the conversation at ISC West 2024,” unsurprisingly, respondents opted for applications like facial recognition and cybersecurity (78.57%), followed by legislation affecting the industry (14.29%), and customer service, chat bots, administrative or creative tasks (7.14%)
