NAPERVILLE, Ill.—Stanley CSS closed its 10th and 11th Sonitrol franchise acquisitions Nov. 9, with the purchase of franchises in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Okla.
“This one is exciting for us because it's in a market were we really have an opportunity to increase market share and density,” Tony Byerly, president of Stanley CSS told Security Systems News.
Stanly has two existing branch offices in the area he said. Offices will be consolidated and all customers will be serviced by the existing Stanley CSS offices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
“We're also excited to have Rob (Cass), a previous owners of the franchises, stay on with the organization and be our district GM,” Byerly added.
Since it purchased Sonitrol Corp. in 2008, Stanley has been buying up franchises on an opportunistic basis. There are 90 remaining franchises in the country, some of which are owned by the same person or group. There are about 50 different owners of independent Sonitrol franchises, Byerly said.
Terms of the sale, which includes mostly commercial accounts including retail, restaurant, industrial, financial, government and education customers, as well as some residential accounts, were not released.
Byerly said he's looking forward to bringing the company's new Flexipanel, which it was touting at ASIS, to this market. “It basically allows us to mainstream Sonitrol audio verification [capabilities] with a price point that 40-percent less than the legacy control panel.”
