Viscount Systems wins in Maine and Fla.

BURNABY, British Columbia-Viscount Systems, a provider of security software and services, won two additional U.S. federal government contracts to secure facilities in Maine and Florida.

The company's Freedom access control technology, as well as its VeriCert certification software, will be deployed in these buildings and in keeping with contractual obligations the government agencies have not been named.

"The opportunity to secure additional U.S. Government facilities speaks to the expanding strength of our Freedom product and also to the confidence these agencies have placed in us," said Dennis Raefield, president and CEO of Viscount, in a prepared statement. Rayfield joined Viscount in December 2012.

"Whether it's the cyber security technology itself or the fact that we provide a cost effective solution, we are showing time and again that this is a beneficial business relationship for both parties. U.S. Federal Government facilities are moving towards stricter security requirements and we will be their partner every step of the way."

Viscount's Freedom access control system allows entry devices (ID cards, RFID readers, biometrics, etc.) to be connected to, and controlled by, standard building IT networks without requiring access control panels and wiring.
