Vivint celebrates 25 years

PROVO, Utah — Residential security and smart home services provider, Vivint, is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Vivint pointed to the past quarter century, where the company said it has led home security innovation, efficiency, safety and defining what it means to have a smart home.
Vivint’s suite of smart home and security products includes a variety of home security cameras, doorbell cameras, sensors, smart locks and keypads in addition to their offered services. Vivint offers both professional monitoring services and its Smart Hub, which allows the user to control the entire system through an in-home control panel in addition to Vivint’s mobile app.

Vivint Gives Back
Vivint Gives Back, a Vivint-led 501(c)3, has served more than 400,000 people while working with 64,000 volunteers who have donated nearly 300,000 hours and raised over $30 million for groups committed to making a positive impact in communities around the world. Vivint Gives Back also hosts annual international humanitarian trips where hundreds of employees volunteer their time, money, and labor to help improve the quality of life for communities by building homes, providing access to clean water, and serving the local population. In 2022, 600 volunteers from Vivint Smart Home traveled to Costa Rica to help communities with service projects that included building homes, community centers, and playgrounds as well as installing solar lights. The team completed 70 projects in total, giving 12,600 volunteer hours and impacting the lives of 1,300.
Celebrating 25 Years
Vivint has a number of events and giveaways planned to commemorate its 25th anniversary, including donations to first responders and deserving families nationwide. Vivint Gives Back will be donating 25 systems to organizations making a difference across the country, partnering with groups such as foster care agencies, domestic violence centers, teachers in Title 1 schools, and First Responders. Vivint Gives Back will also be contributing a total of $25,000 to two fire departments chosen for their efforts in responding to emergencies involving Vivint customers.
Vivint was notably acquired by NRG Energy, a North American Energy company in 2023.
